Classic Whirlwind For Sale

Posted 1 July 2024

Summer is here, who needs a solid classic ready to drop in?

Fellow ACBS members and friends:

I have decided to sell my 1961 Whirlwind Sea Lion.  particulars:

This is a turn key, run last season, classic big Whirlwind.  This is the third WW I have restored, two previous now owned by fellow club members.

This boat features a like new   2017    (cost $7,700.00)      50 HP four stroke Tohatsu outboard with power trim and the correct special order short shaft...no ugly transom extensions.

This engine surely must have less that 40 hours since new.   Price a new one!

I installed a integral 13 gal. gas tank, no wrestling with gas cans.   Engine always run on Non ethanol fuel...though no real need for that.  Special flush system, no earmuffs needed.

Almost new full cover as pictured.  Loose fitting, never trailered a varnish boat with a cover on.

All new instruments and modern controls sensitively mounted.

Original restored cable steering, that old school classic feel and performance.

All lights work, on boat and trailer,  removable trailer lights, no need to get wet at launch.  Tilt back trailer. Galvanized.  Old, but those are the best, very solid.

Good enough varnish work and bottom paint.

Wood framed safety glass dual fold out windshields and raiseable front hatch for ventilation.

Anchor, lines, and life jackets included.

Clear title for the boat   Clear title for the trailer.

Very good tires and bearing buddies, this trailer pulls perfectly.

Automatic bilge pump,  hardly needed.

Boat always stored indoors.

I have the bimini frame with old canvas..I don't like to run with bimini.

I bought this boat from the original owner family at the 2017 Lake Dora show, Field of Dreams.

Price to a fellow member:  $7500.00  Priced for quick sale, need the garage space, next stop Fakebook market place...or worse....and not at that price...this classic WILL SELL!

Pick up at Powhatan C.H. Virginia or delivered within reasonable distance.
